Hey D and R are right next to each other. I'm not taking a shot at my typing as a difference maker when it comes to questioning my Coheed authority so step off trick.

I'm waiting to listen to it until it's out. I can't imagine it will be higher than a 3.8.

Yeah I think once the initial bloated rating dies down it will be 3.6 or so. It's like this in that there are some great standout tracks but nothing's as good as Domino or Vic for me. And really the only reason I have this rated as a 4 is because the best tracks on here are just unbelievably good and elevate the whole thing, which isn't the case on descension.

Damn well that sounds disappointing. There are 4 amazing songs on this no doubt.

Descension has four really good songs too. No Domino on this one (although Gravity's Union is very good and would the closest comparison) and those four songs may not quite stack up to the best four on Ascension as a whole either, but they are still pretty good

The problem really lies in the other five songs.

The first verse in Dark Side of Me is like the best vocal performance Claudio's ever done, and the last two mintues of

Gravity's Union go really, really hard. I like Descension. The poppier songs are a nice change from the pretentious EPIC

OMG BLOWOUT FINISH that Coheed tend to go for.

I think both Gravity's Union and Sentry the Defiant are just as good as Domino and Vic, if not better.

Regardless those are definitely my four favorites from this double-album.

Sentry the Defiant and The Hard Sell > Anything off this

This > Descension

If the best songs off each album were compiled into one record, we'd have a classic on our hands.

You guys are crazy, the hard sell boasts some of Claudio's worst lyrics since Shabutie.

"She screamed love is such a strong word

I said what if we took a word, deciphered the innocence

And well, um, fucked..."

Descension's actually growing on me hard, digging it more and more. Don't think I'll ever thing the latter half is more than decent but the first 5 tracks are incredible.
