KILL, ever listened to Bark Psychosis? They're an earlier post-rock act that was highly influenced by Talk Talk. Not nearly as good, but still neat.

post hardcore like fugazi, jawbox, husker du, unwound etc is awesome
if we're labeling stuff like emery or whatever as post hardcore then yea that shit is awful

but frodus and at the drive-in and the nation of ulysses and those other bands i mentioned

Glassjaw also. Some noise rock bands can be arguably tagged as post-hardcore so there's a lot of good shit. Shame the genre has become a dick-sucking scene-pit.

Damn, thrash's awesome but you better listen to Leaves. Plus there is a song called "October All Over", so ironic.

Yea Inveigh. The older bands were just hardcore with a more expansive sound. Dont know why it became gay.

But still better than modern post-hardcore. Glassjaw is like the beginning. Big Black is pretty sweet.
|

For a little bit I kind of liked Sigur Ros but for the most part I can't get in to them. A little too far on the sappy and twee side for me.

That's the point of the post- reference right? To break the "boundaries" of a certain genre & expand it. post-hardcore in the 80's/early 90's (forward, transcendental, following, evolving)
