I would’ve loved an album in 98 continuing on this trajectory...it would’ve been straight up grindcore with a southern flare. RTS was a huge fucking letdown in hindsight.

Phil’s been doing some interesting projects in recent years too definitely worth checking

Yeah I remember that Superjoint album a few years back was fuckin bonkers, unfortunately not too terribly memorable tho...

Agreed. I don't even care to listen to it honestly. I'd listen to Power Metal (underrated though) before RTS.

Absolutely. If it didn't have that ridiculous album art, more people would dig it.

Apparently they were all on a lot better terms and more collaborative on RTS...but I wish they weren’t because it’s a boring fucking album

Phil’s stuff with the illegals and in scour is pretty intense

Which make sense Seeing as he was really the only member into extreme metal whilst the others just went a long with it.
I’ve read the biography from rex and he said the abott brothers just liked playing music so they didn’t really care what direction the band went in, and he was somewhat the same.

Yeah but literally every one of Pantera's album covers is bad except maybe VDOP, and even that one is pretty goofy

Id say this and Far Beyond Driven were the closest they had to good album artwork.

They are but it’s also a deadly species found in southern states so it represents the theme and album title more closely than 99% of other album art
