I want to state clearly that Mangini didn't write the drum lines at all. he 'added some stuff', but the rest is written by the other members of the band. It's a great album, but some things just don't sound ... really good. I can't really say what it is.

As if JP isn't a wanker. I think JR was pushed by MP and JP to focus more on the technical wankery. SFAM and 6D aren't very wank oriented. Plus since JR is kept relatively low in the mix until the wank sections, these sections seem like a more prominent part of his composition style.

@Artuma, it's been a while since I listened to DT, but yeah quite a bit of the wank is tasteless, especially now when we've already heard so much of it. DT were actually more musically mature when they were younger
