he wasn't horrible at all he was just incredibly mediocre. he had a buttload of charisma but his rhymes were pretty meh and his flow was decent. as iconic rappers go he was prob the least talented

i can understand that i guess, but for me the way he raps about a lot of it is fucking great. he talks about things in ways no rapper ever thought of and it makes his raps so interesting.



also while a lot of his shit is money/drugs/hoes/cars etc he has some fucking great material that isn't that i mean C2 and C3 are pretty varied subject matter-wise

I think 2Pac is underrated by people who realize that he mostly had loads of acclaim due to his death and charisma, but he really was a genuinely good emcee. He had great rhyme schemes and alliteration when he wanted to. But yeah he was overrated, then again the West Coast really wasn't ever about technicality.



I'd say Weezy might be a little bit better, tho. They both have great charisma in their own ways.



also if subject matter was really that relevant in hip-hop basically every album would be shitty because it's either all about bitches/money/drugs/swag/how tough it is in some places. What matters is how you deliver it, and Weezy F. Baby delivers.
