Pretty much every Dir En Grey show I've felt totally out of place. Lots of their American fans look like mall goths and I'm just a normal looking dude.

I'm back on my Dir En Grey obsession. It comes in waves. I've been listening to Withering To Death and DSS a lot. Merciless Cult into C is one of my favorite Diru openers.

Don't like Cult much in studio but live it's awesome and pretty iconic while C I love no matter what version I play it.

Merciless Cult is devistating live. And agreed Fadedsun, the fan base in England is the same -- rabid assholes to put it bluntly. Still pisses me off they only play 2 dates in London, and that's your lot, every few years. Bit of a joke really.

Apparently they find it stressful to keep touring overseas (as documented in AQA and Ghoul's Doc) so it's easy to see why they don't do it. Plus again their grab at international success kinda dropped when DSS came so I can see why we as an international fanbase barely get any dates. However what I find inexcusable is their lack of subtitles on their DVD/Blu Rays because everything after Marrow should have full English subtitles for foreign audiences who will import their stuff. No excuses.

Stressful or not, I've strongly supported them since UROBOROS -- dreading to think the amount of money I've give them over the years -- the least they could do is play a few dates other than London if they're only ever planning to come once every few years. Maybe if they came over more often to play in just London I could forgive them a little more, but to leave fans hanging that long just to play one or two dates in the same town, seriously sucks. Dunno what it's like in the rest of Europe, but the Brits get overlooked imo.

In all honesty, I still admire they actually tour outside Japan. A lot of Japanese bands just don't do that despite having a lot of overseas fans.

Also, they'll never come in my country, lol.

Looking at other areas it's exact the same situation Dr or even worse. The situation is not ideal but God damn it's much better than almost any other Japanese act you'd want to see live (i.e. Tour Japan and no where else and never will). I'd be more salty like you but I'll never see them regardless so yeah :/

UK, same as you. But I won't go to London so that's why I'll never see them. Evo is from Romania and they've never gone there I believe (even in the AQA Euro tour).

No, closest they've been was Hungary during AQA 2011, and that ain't happening again, considering it was the very long, worldwide tour that gave nodules to Kyo and back problems to Shinya.

Never been there before, it's so huge I wouldn't know where to go or how to use the London Underground. Me being in a place that big and never been there before on my own is an anxiety bomb waiting to go off. Also the ticket prices to go there is ridiculous and unless it's the weekend I can't take off Uni days to go to gigs.

Fair enough dude. I can't stand the place myself, but some things have to be endured haha. I'll only ever go there again if Tool ever tour again and only do London; same aplies for Rammstein -- though they've always been good for touring around England -- and obviously Diru, because I feel these bands are on the cusp of calling it a day in a few years.

Yeah I really need to see Dir because I predict another 5 years and they're done. Only band I'd go absolutely full YOLO and go no matter what is to see Buck Tick since they has never done any shows outside Japan in their 30 year career however I'd still probably crack at the last minute and still not go.

After watching Ain't Afraid to Die on AQA Vol. 1 I'd be regretting that super hard as well.

Nah, don't listen to me Evo, I'm an irritated freak who can't stand crowds. I come from a shitty little shipyard town, so I don't handle crowds or congestion well. haha

The 2011 London Koko show was incredible from what has been shown in the AQA discs.
