I really don't understand if they actually thought this was any good when they were making it or if it was just a joke in really really fucking bad taste.
yeah this beats me as well. I mean if they have any semblance of taste they must've realized how awful this was, and if so, why did they release it? how is it possible to NOT to realize how mediocre this is compared to their earlier stuff? the question is also if they are changing because they want to attract new/more fans or because they themselves want to write music like this.

Yeah it's bewildering lol. I suppose it could be they want to write music like this but if so there was absolutely no sign of an influence like this in their music beforehand so it's a pretty massive left turn. I really don't know, I just can't understand what they were thinking.

Catch Without Arms = incredibly catchy with a few duds (like one or two)
Leitmotif = An album with bad production.
El Cielo = Pretty good mix of stuff, and still not as good as Catch Without Arms.
They will never top CWA.
This record is pretty 'ok' but that's it. It's like elevator music, or music at a disco. It's really lame.

Talking about Eidolon mongi? Yeah I think Leitmotif wasn't designed to have crystal clear production considering they recorded it in ten days. Still a beast of an album.

Yes eidolon haha and plus it was their first album. Sometimes first albums don't always have perfect
production. Personally I didn't see anything wrong with Leitmotif's production.

I enjoy Pariah - it's definitey the most ecletic of their work. Granted, it's that very nature of songwriting which makes each song hit-or-miss, but I'd certainly say more songs fall into the "hit" category for me.
The style of Chuckles could've actually been interesting if it was just done for a one-off song in a collection of songs equally as varied as Pariah. But a whole damn album of it? No. Just, no. HUGE swing and a miss by Dredg here.
