the impression I get is that pharoh joined sputnik all optimistic and full of life, but then decided to conform and pretend in order to try to fit in.

Theres nothing to pretend about when it comes to this. This was pretty a pretty dour, insipid 35 mins of music.

This is pretty spot on. His retardation has stayed with him the whole time though.

I have listened to the first three albums way too much, and one thing I noticed is that while the first two had a special spark, Homesick lost that spark and turned out to be much more generic. What Separates me From You continues the trend by leaving behind the spark ADTR once had and now with even more pop.

Honestly this album isn't horrible, it has a couple good songs, but the "breakdowns" they do are hilarious

Album Rating: 4.5 | Sound Off
Why? Just the fact that the breakdowns are done in a more straightforward hardcore style is not only an improvement on the breakdowns of previous albums but what other bands of their style does anything different like that? Most strictly stick to the single note shit and yeah while 2nd Sucks has a pretty generic breakdown, the rest of the album not only uses sparingly but like I said uses them in much more successful ways.

just sounds cheesy and forced. No passion or emotion in them IMO.

I disagree but I'm not gonna be some faggot dillweed and be like "NO UR WRONG, LOSER". Ever since their debut they've been moving towards an almost totally pop punk sound albeit at a slow pace, so imo this album is the conclusion to a very natural progression.

Yeah, I agree. Despite the fact I know it's generic as shit (that song at least) I still really enjoy it, it's such a good pump-up song. I may actually bump this a 4.5 (and possibly distant future a 5) because I honestly really really love this album.

Well to be honest Spirit, I haven't heard any other album by them so that's information I just don't even know until now. I'm more of a Metalhead, so to me it sounds bad....but to someone who's really familiar with the band, it might be really good, as you said.

My least favorite song is "All Signs Point To Lauderdale" (I still like it but the swearing the chorus kinda ruins it in a weird way) and my favorite is either "It's Complicated" or "Out of Time". I''m thinking it's the latter because I actually really enjoy the lyrics on that song. I feel like people tend to over-analyze a band like this and yeah while I'm sure the band has every desire to take themselves seriously, it's supposed to be fun as fuck music with lyrics you can relate to. Sure they aren't the most intelligent or well-written but I think A Day To Remember has always hit the mark in that area.
