About this album guys. I stumbled upon this interview on youtube and it all made sense why the album was made to sound the way it sounded. I am guessing they are not really happy with the record themselves.

It was like an album for the mainstream made to diss the mainstream. It wouldn't have worked if it wasn't accessible in the mainstream. I forgive them. Come on Jesse. Lets now get on to making amazing records. The message was loud and clear. Back off and let me do my fucking thing assholes!!

Songs like Feeding the Wolves, Wicked Ones and Fix Me make much more sense now and they are the songs that seem to tell the
backstory of the album.
Sorry this was a double post so I had to edit and type something.

Yup, I warmed to the album more knowing it's back story as well.

Been jamming to this a lot lately and it has really grown on me. Thinking of raising it to a 4 but I don't think I will do that.

Finally had a chance to see that interview. Interesting.
Jesse speaks really well... Tater is, ummm, an interesting character.

Everyone always says that about lengthy closers.

I finally went back to this again and it's only gotten worse sadly. The last song is still excellent though.

Hmm, I might not go back & revisit then.

I'm just not as generous with middle-of-the-road mainstream rock as I used to be. Their previous 2 albums were much better than this.

Irrelevant question: Where did the phrase "middle of the road" come from"?

"standing for or following a course of action midway between extremes; especially : being neither liberal nor conservative in politics"
I probably misused it anyway. I meant mediocre.

Nah, you didn't... But the phrase is a strange one.
Because nowadays, being extreme would be traveling down the middle of the road.

New record out July 17, is there a released song yet? Haven't found anything, but kinda looking forward to it.

I also saw that release date somewhere the other day. Unsure about any songs as yet, then again I'm not the best person to ask as I tend to stay away from pre-released singles/songs anyway.

Getting this down to my original rating which is a 3. I hope the new release is going to be much better than this, it just has to be. TAE and Division are still very solid releases for me.

Yeah, I agree. I can see what they were trying to do here. It only worked to a small extent, so now go back to what originally worked.

Fade Into The Ocean is the only song I ever revisit on this. I'd hope they build off of that kind of sound on the next album, but that's probably wishful thinking.
