You're a little early for Talk Like a Pirate Day there, junior.

Anyway, if you think our lack of a record contract means we're not allowed to criticize, then your lack of a record contract means that you also are too inept and inexperienced to be able to speak positively of them because it's not like you know better.

Oh no, run for your life! Logic!

I do not suffer fools. I do however delight in watching them suffer.

Actually, Heafy isn't very polyrhythmic. Any moderately experienced guitarist/vocalist could pull it off as the riffs and vocal lines are comparitively similar and don't present much challenge. A better example of a polyrhythmic singer/guitarist would be Dave Mustaine.

And aside from that, the screams friggin' blow. They're not even screams, they're squawks. This Message Edited On 08.21.06

The vocals and guitar tracks are done seperately, and if you wanna see some hard guitar playing while screaming/growling try out some Opeth or Necrophagist.

He still has to sing and play during concerts though.

The riffs Heafy plays underneath his vocals are really no more rhythmically complicated than anything Metallica or Children of Bodom play. Which is to say that they're not that complex at all. For the most part, the right hand can just go on autopilot.

What else does he play and sing at the same time?

As I've said before, I normally don't review albums I don't own. But in the interest of fairness, I downloaded and listened to the album in its entirety to see if the collection of tracks I'd heard thus far were just bad examples. God was I ever wrong about that.

This album is like passing a kidney stone. Matt Heafy's vocals practically raped my ears, and the repetitive nature of the guitars was just so incredibly banal I just wanted to go around breaking things. The songwriting was nothing spectacular either. Heafy doesn't seem ready to admit that he's not very polyrhythmic at all and should just hire a real frontman to take the microphone away from him. Maybe if he gave up on the idiotic squawking he could write a decent riff.

I deleted the files from my computer and can safely say that I have no intention of ever actually buying this magnificent clusterfuck of an album.

Forget the tech stuff I really enjoy listening to this band/album. I just love hearing other bands in there music, picking out the Slayer, Pantera etc its wicked. Feel this album gets slatted too much cause its 'cool' to slate a popular album.

Shame on you all......
