Ummmm, I don't think so. I think it was his second album? I'm not sure.

probably the discovery

Ah okay. Just checking to see if you ended on a high note.

same thing in fucking death metal. man up.
Same reason I don't like death metal haha. Oh well I'm just a pussy.

Not at all. A lot of people seem to like music where there's something to look forward to such as a chorus, climax, or some epic guitar solo. Nothing wrong with that.

Nothing wrong with that.

I tried but it wasn't very effective...

Idk. I find Ever Forthright to be leagues above this. Why don't you like it bloc?
|
| |
It's like they're trying too hard. Not only do the traditional instruments (ie. guitar) just seem like they're playing as fast and technical as possible but then pile on the saxophone and the entire mix just sounds lame as hell. And then there's the rapping...

there's rapping? uh oh. I really liked the song latencies and tendencies by them, but I haven't had a chance to listen to the s/t yet. I'm sure I'll love it though.

It seems to be getting a good rating (from the usual suspects) but yeah, it's not like my hopes were very high for the album but I did think I would like it at least a little bit.
As for the rapping, I think it only happens a few times.

Damn... I listened to "Jetpacks Was Yes!" and have to conclude that I've never heard a vocalist that gay, Spencer really takes the cake. I can't stop wondering why djent bands have such an amazing talent at replacing good vocalists with bad ones. Like Casey with Spencer or more recently, Tesseract's Dan with Elliott.

Idk man. I think Spencer fits this band better than Chris did. Chris does an amazing job in Ever Forthright because it seems that it's easier to right vocal melodies to their music due to the more jazzy tendencies. As where this seems pretty difficult to write vocal melodies to. I didn't think Chris fit Periphery very well.

Actually MetallicOpeth, just about every track has killer guitarwork. Not just Racecar.
