hehe I'd actually consider the proposition that ITCOTKC is a stronger album ender than Starless.
Both are absolutely incredible. They've always been so close, just grew fonder of Red's darker harder side.

some of the riffing in Red and the arpeggios that ring out in Fallen Angel....can't help but think some of the grunge bands were paying pretty close attention to this album

This is definitely the heaviest KC album, clocking in at around a neutron star. Fripp's playing and the general soloing on this album are very interesting and in true king crimson fashion, entirely unique and enjoyable. Fripp is flaunting with gusto and verve as usual; love the sheet metal drumming in one more erotic nightmare.
