Yeah, it's probably some of the most moving 6 tracks ever made. Kid B by Thrice ftw.

I totally agree. I also think their brilliance lies in their ability to be catchy and mainstream-y while still being deep and progressive. Beggars is definitely my least favorite, but I haven't heard Identity Crisis.

"Maybe it's just me, but I find this record to be the opposite of experimental."

I think that was the point. I watched an interview where they said they were smashed after pumping out The Alchemy Index, and just wanted to write the music they felt comfortable writing. Explains the stripped down sound, but I disagree that it's their worst; I'm undecided if it's their best.

The Great Exchange is probably the best song, after Wood and Wire and maybe Circles. So the soft stuff on this album is pretty much why it's a 3.5 and not lower...

This is an amazing album, doesn't feel forced in the least, and makes me appreciate the Alchemy Index (s) all the more

Thrice at their low point is better than most bands at their high points. Doesn't that seem wrong to anyone else?

I was actually gonna write a review for this with the summary being 'you're listening to a Vagrant Records advanced promotional stream,' but I decided against it
