man that song sent chills down my spine the first time I heard it. I was best man at my buddy Aldo's wedding in 2008, and he had my play an acoustic version of it at the reception for him and his wife's dance. Definitely a huge fucking honor.

Thats awesome about the wedding. Did you sing? I can play the entire song except for the second solo, but not nearly well enough to do in front of a large crowd.

That was also my favorite song for like 5 years.

yeah I did a half-instrumental version but I sang the first and second verses. I had to change the chorus a bit haha, couldn't hit those high notes (I'm not the best singer by any means).

The reception was awesome, Aldo and his wife road in through the side door on his Harley for their introduction. Badass.

I'm one of the few that thinks James has a bad ass voice, it has more character than most vocalists.

My main problem with this is that every solo sounds exactly the same. It's all fast shredding with a wah pedal, except on the ballads.

some of the solos were decent on this album but kirk is boring because he structures all his solos the same way.

Kirk is a good guitarist, but he just isn't very original and kinda bland after awhile. Most of the only exceptions are on the thrash albums. Battery, Master of Puppets (especially the middle section), Fade to Black, and One have the best guitar parts.

I don't find him boring at all...but I'm a self admitted fanboy so my opinion isn't really relevant here. I just grew up with them so they are rammed into my skull and will probably never leave.

I like Metallica better. But I'm a fanboy so I guess my opinion is somehow invalid.
