I dig SAP, dunno why anyone wouldn't care about it tbh.

Sap is an EP, and TDPDH is the only generally criticized album. There are plenty of people who think Facelift and/or s/t are AiC's best. And the people who criticize BGWTB are in the vast minority.

I was just fucking with Ars. I'm gonna check it out.

@Sitarhero: So is Screaming Life, that doesn't stop it from being amazing.
@Deathschool: good boy.

I've never jammed BGWTB in full, but what I've heard does nothing for me.

JoF is an EP too and I think it's AiC's best work

We seem to have fairly similar views on grunge SH. Only big difference
is our band preference order.

Jar Of Flies is AIC's best yeah. Dirt is almost as good, but there's two or three songs on Dirt I can't pretend to like.

Sickman and Godsmack

Hate to Feel is pretty extraneous to me. I'm not a big fan of Sickman either, but it has its charms.

@Death: WHAT?
You just had to pick my favorite on the album didn't you?
Seriously "Godsmack" is one of AiC's best.
"Iron Gland" and "Rooster" are the ones I don't really care much about personally.

Junkhead is probably the worst "song", but it's stll great

Godsmack rules. Iron Gland gets a pass because it's a joke track and it's less than a minute long so it doesn't outstay its welcome.

I love Junkhead and Rooster, but Sickman is prob my 2nd least fave on Dirt. After Iron Gland.

Sickman has some sweet ass riffs, but the whole song feels super forced with transitions that just grind against each other. It's a song I wanna like but can't.

That's pretty much why I don't like it either, but that grinding up-and-down aesthetic is intentional. I think it's meant to simulate the effect of shooting up heroin then coming down and then doing it again.

Yeah, AiC was all about catharsis. Grunge was something psychological as a whole when you think about it.

I get that. And I actually love that effect when it's done correctly. Some of my favorite songs are stop and start like that, but that song just doesn't make it for me. Then there's the cheesy vocal echoes, ugh.

The 90's were the best decade ever.
