Ngl the attire Kyo is donning would look ridiculous on anyone else. Someone must've torn off the Hulk's hands, resized them, and put bling on top. I mean, that's what it looks like on my end...
New wardrobe is still dapper as expected tho, especially Kaoru. The guy rocks that top hat, what can I say? Meanwhile Shinya continues to look real feminine. But dafuq is that cover for the single all about? It umm... certainly grabs the attention. 25th can't come soon enough!

The cover art for this can't be worse than the Agitated Screams Of Maggots video/cover art. As for the band's image, well...it pretty much cements that they're once again a visual oriented band IMO. I typically don't care for that stuff, but DEG's one of the few exceptions to that rule.

Kaoru put his own spin on Jack the Ripper in the new band pic lol. The musicians' overall black attire looks pretty neat, but Kyo just had to opt for something ridiculous.

I'm hating their look at the min; kyo looks like a piss poor mad scientist, the rest look like dodgy Victorian vampires lol.
And yeah, the artwork is.... yeah. Really hope the single is good though.

Let it be said that I do not listen to this band for their look
They should all dress like Nier characters though

Neither do I, but uro-dss eras had them looking like badasses

Ngl the attire Kyo is donning would look ridiculous on anyone else [2]. Looks like a boss from No More Heroes or a mad hack n' slash game and that's awesome; plus I like the coat.

Wow this is pretty strong! Very pleasantly surprised considering how disappointed I was with Arche which did nothing for me, this on the other hand is very sweet.
|
| |
Listening to the remaster? Also, why was Arche disappointing?
|
| |
Just listening to it on YouTube so the quality isn't the best, but it's passable for a first impression. There already is a remaster? Crazy sh!t... Don't know which one it is but it's only partly relevant on YouTube anyway...
Ah, just expected something else with Arch I guess. Maybe it will grow upon returning to it, it was my first experience with Dir En Grey and after several tries I still couldn't feel it somehow.
This however hit at first listen… Maybe I just had to get used to the style in general a bit. Will def give Arch another chance now.

Even on Youtube the remaster transforms the album, it's that drastic. The original is bad in comparison imo, here's the remaster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUO2ooAtpQk&list=PLINesDgSwsOoU1bHfeZ1X93BmFFT7oesI
Were you expecting a huge, darkly experimental album with Arche? (like this, for example). Some people ended up doing that and being disappointed with it since that's not what the album represents. Glad you like Uro so far, as you stated their albums are big growers.

Thx a lot for the link, very curious... Will check at home.
And yeah, I probably expected something darker indeed. But then, I don't know what I really was expecting, just something different. This one is much more how I anticipated them to sound, but I'm pretty sure Arche will grow on me as well.

Despite being more 'out there', I'd describe this as a more familiar sound to metal and prog fans so I can see why latched on you better. Arche is the combination of all the different sounds they've done, focusing more on a soaring melodic approach soaked in reverb.

I did a comparison of the two versions in the car for the wife, and hearing them back to back is unbelievable. The kick drum sounds like ass on this version.

| |
So which one you like better Gonzo, the original?
I‘ve only checked the remaster obviously as both versions on YouTube are labeled that way and sound identical. Enjoy it quite a lot.

I prefer the remaster by a country mile. Plus the track listing on R+E is much smarter.
R+E is superior in every way imo. This version is great, but the remaster destroys this

Ah ok, just thought the other way round. The remaster sounds great, one of the very rare occasions where the remaster beats the original obviously. Will look for it nonetheless just to compare.

And what a coincidece, just when I get into this band they come to my city. Will probably go I guess... Never seen a Japanese band live before.

Remaster ftw and definitely go see them live if you can.

Which city? I'll be at the London show this October.
