That growl 5 secs into the title track is epic. Fucking awesome. I don't really like the vocals tho

I love the vocal performance on the title track, attillas wailing/chanting/singing is really creepy and just adds to the atmosphere so much

Angel, you got any good black/death metal bands for me? And also do you know of any good death metal bands with cool, diverse vocals like chalkys on scepter of the ancients?

Don't really know what you've heard, but here's a shot in the dark:
Black Metal:
Drudkh - Estrangement
Walknut - Graveforests and Their Shadows
Weakling - Dead as Dreams
Fell Voices - Untitled
Ash Borer - Ash Borer
Death Metal:
Adramalech - Psychostasia
Demigod - Slumber of Sullen Eyes
Demilich - Nespithe
Ripping Corpse - Dreaming with the Dead
Molested - Blod Draum

Mangled Torsos - Drawings of the Dead

Angel, I was actually asking for bands that play a mix of black and death metal... And do any of the death metal bands you listed have really unique vocals like chalkys on scepter of the ancients. Thanks for the recs I'll check them out.

Valerius, thanks. Are your recs blackened death metal bands or death metal bands with unique, versatile vocals?
|
| |
my bad
|
| |
What u mean lol which of the two things I was asking for are they?
|
| |
Well there's lots of bands that are kind of part of different genres, but Prosanctus is one of the best combinations of death metal and black metal I have heard where the two genres blend homogeneously. It isn't black metal and isn't death metal, and it isn't blackened death metal. It's more of a hybrid black/death metal, if that makes any sense. It might be what you are looking for.
Mangled Torsos has unique versatile vocals. It's mostly burple grind vocals though. Anyways, both of those albums are killer imo and worth checking out.
