"I don't have to do shit. I don't fucking care if Adolf Hitler made a fucking album, if it's good music, I'll listen to it. And nobody is going to guilt trip me into not doing so.
It's 100% okay to not listen to bands with horrible band members anymore and you shouldn't be judged for doing so. The same can be said for those of us who separate the art from the artist. We don't deserved to be judged or guilted for doing so and fuck off if you encourage that behavior."
amen

Separate the art from the artist, but stop putting money in the artist's pocket, especially if he's a child rapist. Pirate the hell outta that shit.

Hahaha that does sound like a fun idea. Spotify actually did a clever little thing there. If you just look up LostProphets you won't find anything. You actually have to click on 'All Artists' or search for a specific song or album to find them.
This album is pretty much my adolescence btw, love it to pieces but don't listen to it much these days.

I only feel bad for the rest of the band. They should try and record a greatest hits album with a different vocalist, but it'd be hard to do because Watkins would probably still be entitled to royalties as a songwriter. :[ It's a no-win situation for them.

Lostprophets is a perfect example of why music piracy is good.

I am not big on the separate the artist from the art logic. If whoever does something fucked up, I'd rather not pay to: watch their movies, listen to their music, use their products, etc. I also am not going to guilt trip someone else for partaking in the product(s) from the individual or group. It is more just for me personally. I am not going to change the world by trying to convince ppl to not listen to music from an artist that is a shitty person outside of their art.
The piracy thing totally makes sense tho. Too bad I have already paid for the music I have from this band back when I was younger. At least it didn't all go to Watkins, I suppose.
A redo of some of their better songs without Watkins would be cool. He wasn't really that great of a vocalist by any means anyway. He was serviceable for the music they were playing.

People can choose to separate artist from art, it's a moral choice and people shouldn't be judged or looked down upon for what they do. But agreed yeah I wouldn't want to be paying or financially supporting that person at all.
Rerecording to these songs is pointless tbh, the band doesn't even like this genre of music these days and it's still Ian's lyrics. Just give us a new No Devotion record!
