3-4 years seems like the sweet spot for me, constantly releasing new material can be a little much for me, I'd rather they hone their ideas into a leaner and potentially more impactful body of work. Of course there are those rare beasts that succeed despite this, but I don't mind waiting a while if I'm getting top tier results.
And yeah I imagine these guys are only working on this very sporadically, I think they've pretty much said as much.

This album is an absolute beast on good headphones my goodness. It's been very long since I listened to it that way and it's blowing me away. They mixed and produced this themselves didn't they? Such a stellar job.

It was an utter stroke of genius to make Deep Water and stick it right in between the two insanely stark monoliths that are We Carry On and Machine Gun. Makes them even more monolithic, yet also keeps them from collapsing under their own weight.

Lol

I can think of a couple other ways to break up a pair of monoliths and cleanse the palate besides sticking a terrible song between them

Definitely. Not too big on the aforementioned It's A Fire (sorry Pangea). Deep Water is obviously not on par with their proper tracks, it'd be weird do rank it among their best, Elysium is a bit too much, but it might as well be its place on the album.

Deep Water is better than It's A Fire or Elysium - doesn't hold up on its own, but works a treat in sequencing
