Pretty much any random tech house playlist on spotify >>> Amber. This is cool but it's DATED. Time doesn't forgive. Nostalgia is just a social construct. ETC ETC etc.

As a collection of meditative IDM songs Amber it's definitely one of the greatest tho.

"you're just a social construct" communicated through a social construct

thankfully, the hills of Cappadocia on the cover are not

"This is cool but it's DATED."

It's only dated if you prefer the sound of modern synths to what was available back then. If you prefer those vintage synth pads it's not dated at all. it's just a different sound

i prefer the term "timeless".

only track i could see you making a strong case for sounding dated is silverside, just because those string pads were SO ubiquitous at the time.

i love the closer and the "silverside/slip" combo is cool, but i feel like so much of this is lacking a pulse

Yeah I agree, this lacks a pulse that a lot of their other albums absolutely have. This is a nice collection of songs tho

hmmmm what should I bump instead Johnny? Been slowly exploring Carbon Based Lifeforms and Solar Fields, but its not like I know nearly enough about electronic or idm to actually defend this all that well lmao

think "Piezo" might have been one of my original go-tos off this album... then it was the tracks at the end "Nil" and "Teartear", but it seems ultimately it's "Montreal" that has become my go-to when I'm not jamming the whole album
