Damnit, I may have to up my rating for this. Still one of my least favorite albums by them, but everything they've released is so goddamn good I just don't know how to not rate everything they do ridiculously high...have the same problem with Death and Neurosis.

@evilford- aha I probably did a bad job at expressing what I meant- I dig this album more than a 3.5 even though it's in my lesser preferred Meshuggah releases. It's better than what I usually consider a 3.5 for other music, but if I do that all my ratings for this band will be 4 or above (excluding Contradictions Collapse) and with as many releases as these guys have thats highly unusual for me. But I guess I have to, or else I'd be lying to myself. I guess everyones a fanboy of at least one or two bands. I've got three or four aha

Meshuggah, Death, Tool, Neurosis, Agalloch...yeah I guess 5 bands that I kind of obsess over everything they do. Try not to do it too much, though, and I'll admit if any of these guys release a blah record but it just hasn't happened and I never see it happening.

This and Chaosphere is are their best albums.

I found Chaosphere's music didn't fit the production that well. Their heavier more experimental side is better suited for

their more refined and heavy production found on later albums.

yep. Their run of Nothing to Catch to Obzen specifically is one of my favorite 3 consecutive albums ever though. Love that era of these guys so much.

There's like 3 songs on there I like to jam, but agreed it lost its appeal really quick. Definitely their worst since Contradictions.

I still love Koloss but I can see why people get bored with it.

Break Those Bones is like a top 10 Meshuggah song for me though. Love turning the bass all the way up and blasting that in the car. So godamn heavy.
