the snare tho. if it werent for that snare, this would be a 0. I can't one this though, because Burzum's Daudi Bauldrs exists. ... and mumble rap.

I have not heard a new Metallica album since the black album, and I am ok with that, not like I am missing anything, what a shame, the coolest band in the world, to shit, I hope they got what they wanted

They used to be a band, now they're just a money-making machine. Good for them though.

Hell that's the secret end goal for every band in existence, let's be honest here

Definitely, not blaming them at all. To be honest, I am just happy that they gave us so many great albums before their decline.

On the other hand, for me, that's what leaves Metallica out of the conversation for the greatest metal band of all time. Unlike Maiden or Motorhead for example, who never stopped being real bands but managed to make money at the same time.

Agreed, I've been saying for years that they're moreso a business than a band.

monosg you can blame them to a point for their money hungry ways, Iron maiden made tons of dough, but knew that being a band was the more important thing

cant compare anything to Motorhead, they are the coolest band on the planet, Metallica should have taken a small piece from why they liked that band so much

iron maidens latest album isn't necessarily better than Metallica's though....as a matter of fact, it isn't

I cannot speak on it, I bought maiden the day it came out, probably not going to listen to new Metallica, why, my feeling toward the band, Maiden loves being Maiden, Metallica yawn and sip wine, and tell you why they are so awesome

Maiden is by far my favorite metal band ever.....but the same holds true for their output as it does for metallica.....your perception of each band is very subjective

I approached both albums with the same level of skepticism which was extremely high but I loved the new Maiden whereas the new Metallica was a bit better than I thought it wold be.

At least on The Book of Souls they performed an ambitious song (Empire of the Clouds), when they played typical Maiden (The Red and the Black) it was anthemic, and the album had no embarrassing moments for my liking.

i will probably never listen to the book of souls ever again manosg as it suffers from the same ailment as Hardwired....it's just too damn long and requires 'work' to get to the great parts of the record.....you see empire as ambitious whereas i see it as overly pretentious and pretty self centered...but whatever, to each his own....neither one are gems in my book.....same goes for death magnetic and the final frontier
