"I feel like I'm in the minority in liking Jaasta more than Tuleen."
The final moments of the second track has some of their best music tbh. But yes I find the first part a bit more memorable overall.

This and Nokturnal Mortum's Voice of Steel are in a very close race as my favorite album.
Voice of Steel may win because I don't have to set a half hour to listen to one song.
But holy crap Jaasta Syntynyt may be the greatest composition of all time

I want to see the fat, basement-dwelling cuck who wrote that article.

tbf yeah it's disappointing they're touring with a band like loits but the rest of the article is total bs and it doesn't make them fucking nazis

Feel free to explain how the rest of the article is BS, I just went through it and it seems fine to me. They also don’t claim that makes them nazis instantly, but mostly talk about their flippant attitude around their actions and little things that imply an at least right wing reactionary set of beliefs.

Oh I'm not bothering with Get Low, but Noctus is a decent duder, I'd like to hear what he has to say.

controversy isn't the right word. there's not really a disagreement here, it's just bad stuff

“The credibility of Sorvali and Moonsorrow is not made any better by their 2005 side project, the ‘humoristic’ grindcore record Lakupaavi (roughly translated to ‘the liqorice pope’. Liquorice is often used as a racial slur in Finnish.) The songs have ‘funny’ names such Kuolema taidehomolle (‘death to the art fags’), Juutalaiskysymys (‘the Jewish question’) and Hakaristi on oikeesti kaunis (‘the Swastika is actually beautiful’).”
imagine being enough of a scum-sucking cumbrain to defend shit like this

okay so here's my take
the implication is that they have an 'unfortunate relationship with white nationalism' but past touring with loits, i'm just not seeing it
lakupaavi is fucking stupid, yes, but if anyone can look at that and not see it as a desperate joke (a really bad one, yeah - i wouldn't want their sense of humour) then i question their interpretation. it's really poor bait for people to get offended at but it's so absurd in its presentation that nobody could take it seriously, but that's the point. you could ask why they'd bother but it sounds to me like they just have a really poor sense of humour which is y'know, unfortunate, but not enough to assume political beliefs.
i would say that moonsorrow do not engage with criticism towards this sort of thing well - they dismiss it as "waa waa everyone is just offended" rather than truly understanding what people are criticizing. but the presentation of the article to me doesn't sit well - i wouldn't assume that moonsorrow have any sort of relationship with white nationalism from their actions, i'd just assume they're irresponsible with their platform (and who shares it) and have a really shitty sense of humour.
i did indulge in hyperbole when calling the rest of the article bs i admit but the presentation didn't sit well.

"it's so absurd in its presentation that nobody could take it seriously,"
I totally get why you would think so, but if you look at certain white supremacist spaces online like 4chan's politics section or the now deleted Clownworld subreddit the honkler meme was a favorite of theirs and while it was obviously extremely absurd to the average person, it was nonetheless very obvious dogwhistling for nazi shit to people in the know. Though in this case it could absolutely just be an absurd joke, I'm not sure at all.
There are a couple things I might tweak about the article looking back, but ultimately I tend to think that it's better to err slightly towards being uncharitable than overcharitable when it comes to hateful ideologies.

I think that's reasonable, yeah. I think I have a negative bias towards the way that metalsucks usually report these cases however, so perhaps that's influencing my opinion. they are very opinionated and juvenile in tone and leave very little room for nuance. moonsorrow do have some explaining to do but I'm willing to offer them the benefit of the doubt in terms of them having a "relationship with white supremacism" (the more I think about that statement, the more meaningless I find it) instead of the more likely explanation in my eyes of them being irresponsible and... well, unfunny.

Lakupaavi’s album cover has a Jesus Hitler with a McDonald's sign. Not sure why that one is being brought up, it's obviously dumb edgy shit from years ago.
I'd agree that the Moonsorrow guys could have handled that fb thread much, much better.
