be'lakor can't touch the first three insomnium for sure. Stone's Reach beats Winter's Gate tho 8)

First three Insomnium are good but pretty overrated. A lot of mediocre stuff and teen depressive lyrics and some pretty good ideas. Btw, riffing was never one of Insomnium's strong characteristics. Belakor's riffing is incomparable.

if a melodeath album doesnt riff, no amount of good drumming or vocals or basswork is going to save it.

I don't see how anyone can even say Insomnium doesn't riff hard, maybe you can say that about some later albums but this and the two before it have killer riffs in abundance.

i listened to some of Of Breath and Bone and got bored bc all the songs blended together and i couldn't tell when anything ended. I don't have that problem with a band that uses power choruses :3

Mates, you are like Trump supporters, chill out. I didn't say they don't riff, I said riffing is not a strong characteristic of theirs. This is my opinion, Belakor is much better. Except Winter's Gate, that's a great effort. Vessels by Belakor is 8 times better album than first 3 Insomnium combined.
