Lol I always had to look them up on wikipedia or something.

Edit: Oh shit I don't remember rating this.

Yeah I'm looking at it now. Says it's "open for interpretation" and we all know how that goes. But I might look up the lyrics and try to interpret a loose concept myself.

Lol it says the lyrics were deemed indecipherable. But yeah looking at them now. I find it a bit hard to piece together the concept for the album myself though.

Oh well thanks for clearing that up man. Though that sort of has me wondering if they knew Wavering Radiant was gonna be their last album. Kinda interesting I think.

Well at least we still have Mamiffer to listen to.

I'd actually love to read that dude. Seems like you have an understanding of the album that is hard to acquire. For certain albums like that, the concept goes way over my head, while others come fairly easily. I'm sure that you have a valid argument on the concept.

read up a bit on carl jung and you will get the base story for wavering radiant. the rest is turners own interpretation, which seems to touch on connecting with the dead through your dreams.

yeah he avoided talking about the meaning of WR in comparison to earlier albums. i like your theory though, it puts a different spin on how i view it.

my theory is kinda standard. he talks about ghosts a lot, with maybe some reference to spirit guides. which in turn is used in astro travel. he also describes buildings and other wordly things, perhaps using our state of unconsciousness to carry our embodiment further than physically and consciously possible.

i think overall, it's just hinting that our dreams mean more than what we naturally perceive them as.

since i'm really interested in psychology i've read a fair bit into dreams. i also had this recurring dream and wanted to figure out why i kept having it. it was interesting to see all the theoretic discussions on how much our brain changes on different wavelengths. the difference in the way our brain works in beta/alpha/theta/delta definitely has some promise in finding out how to 'unlock' our brains potential.

i think post-metal is my favourite genre not only because of its 'epicness', i love how it's usually based around quantum mechanics/space and psychology. it just works so good with the music. it's too bad the genre has been in a lull since isis disbanded. i'm hoping another band comes out and changes the perspective on it again. neurosis and CoL just seem to be taking forever, neurosis especially.

Damn, that's some really interesting stuff you guys have inferred from the album. I'm def gonna read up on Carl Jung, like you mentioned Powerban, so I can get into it even further.

And I love listening to music that is based on various forms of science. Even if it's just loosely it still adds an appeal to the album that you can't get from various other, sort of, abstract concepts.

my best interpretation of WR before i read potato's comments was that it was about towers, oceans, and dead people. you are a very smart man.

Second Isis album I got into after Panopticon. Not quite as good as Panopticon but it is still a special record.
