qwe stop looking at it from a lyrical point of view and realize how amazing it is

Lyrically this isn't even that bad anyway. At least this makes sense lyrically, unlike a lot of bands who play "progressive" music.

The lyrics in this have never bothered me, lyrics are always my last concern when listening to music, but they seem to be a pretty big downfall for a lot of people with this album

In all honesty at least I can sing along to the lyrics here, unlike an album like De-loused In The Comatorium for example, where although it's one of my favorites of all time the lyrics are questionable at best.

yeah, and lyrics have never been a strong point for progressive bands

How the vocals and music affect my ears and emotions farrrrrr outweighs the lyrics. I only get annoyed by lyrics if they're cliché riddled or my attention is diverted to them because I'm not liking the music.

lyrically it's terrible. a 4 yr old kid could make a song about pizza that went "LA LA LA I LIKE PIZZA IT IS GOOD" and it would make sense. it'd still suck lyrically though

also album just sucks. music is boring. also whyd he have to make a 17 min song and hide the good parts in it? what a fucking fag

sky moves sideways is his best

I don't really see how the music is boring. It's pretty much Floyd with crisper production and influence from metal. Are the songs too long? Maybe, but it's far from boring.

nah i love pink floyd, and yeah this guy takes a heap of influence from them but that doesn't mean he can't make boring music. he just can't write songs like they could. but he tries. goddamn he tries.

@ defeater: Mars volta never cared about lyrics. They merely use words that fit well to their sonority.

I generally don't care too much about lyrics since I'm francophone. I agree with qwe about Anesthetize being overlong. That being said, song is the 2nd best here, after Way out of Here.

Lyrics are overrated anyway. I've noticed that a lot of people who primarily listen to indie and things like that, often dislike progressive music. It's funny because it makes sense. That's probably why I'm thinking "Hey listen to me (and my lyrics)" almost every time I hear the singer of an indie band, singer/songwriters, and of course pop music. Major turn-off. Let the music speak for itself.
