I feel that. I have, like, 20 albums that I need to download, listen to, and rate before I can even start my AotY list. I've even made a list on Microsoft Word, and it's a scary list because the year ends soon and I have finals looming around the corner and I only have so much time in the day to listen to music and half of the albums are super long, overblown atmospheric black metal albums.
Also, how can I listen to new music while jamming Cult of NeurIsisRa 24/7? It's an enigma.
