Pistol and Sugar Boats are on my "meh" list right now. But I'm on board with an album that has 13 songs that are varying degrees of awesome.

Rating on sputnik is not thaat high. It's always inflated in the beginning because fans are checking it out first, dunno why RYM is so negative though.

Was supposed to sit down and listen to the new steven wilson today but screw that, modest mouse is priority! Didnt know this leaked. Its funny how two different sites can have such different opinions. I guess it just goes to show how much one's opinion of music can be affected by the popular consensus.

Every other MM album has a 4.5 or higher from me (Building Nothing out of Something, Lonesome Crowded, and Moon & Antarctica have 5's.)
Coyotes is amazing
God is an Indian and You're an Asshole is fabulous. Sounds like it could've come straight off of Lonesoe Crowded West.
The Ground Walks With Time in a Box is fabulous, especially the 2nd half
Lampshades on Fire is catchy, sounds like something off We Were Dead
Pistol and Wicked Campaign are really unexpected...they're going to need to grow on me.
Overall the album's great with some really brilliant songs but not quite enough for a 4.5. That may change as I keep listening to it.
