Yea phantom limb rules hard, heathen temple riffs like no other. Love the artwork also.

Wasn't as into it at first, but I've come around. Doesn't touch this or Terrifyer, but its better than the rest.

Thank you for the recs dbizzles. I’ll give phantom limb another spin and I haven’t tried misery index. Just discovered need to control and clearly I’m missing something cause I didn’t know it was possible for anything that massive to exist in 94

Try Brutal Truth - Extreme Conditions too!

Eh, these guys slay Brutal Truth imo. Need to Control is a fantastic album though.

PD kind of grow off you the more you get into grind. Theres much better stuff out there.

The more grind I listen to the more I realize I'm not a grind fan so much as I am a PxDx fan. I can definitely fuck with the style but not many bands do anything that interesting with it

> but not many bands do anything that interesting with it
its like any other genre
some artists are content to just be a part of it and do their thing, while others try to push for a unique sound/feel or even innovate

Discordance Axis/Gridlink, PD, and Nasum would be the best ones. Check Nasums debut album if you guys haven't. Overlooked in their discog.

dunno if id say theyre the best ones but those are certainly up there

I definitely got Discordance Axis on the pipeline, for some time now.

I guess i gotta echo what kompy said except even more specific to just this album. My problem with later pd albums begin with the vocals. Where here they are so crisp and varied, on later releases there is so much distortion and monotony to them. While I can appreciate the musicianship, the pace is also quite monotonous. Misery index - assuck had the same issues to a greater degree except the no distorted vocals and didn’t think the musianship was all that good. Didn’t really like the production on that first nasum album. And the vocal patterns are a lil ridiculous. Sorry for the long negative post. Don’t think grinds for me
