the last couple records (well... more if not now than 8) had a good number of songs i really liked, but yeah, me too lol. i don't know if they care about putting a ton of effort into the new stuff. however, i do appreciate that they aren't stagnant in one sound.

it's one thing to evolve but Incubus some seemed to continue honing in on the absolute least exciting elements of their sound until we started stuff like, well, If Not Now When

i still think they have it in them to make another great record, i just don't know if they want that or if they wanna stay on autopilot and make easy money. it's definitely frustrating because they're all extremely talented musicians. i always wonder about where they'd be at if dirk stayed in the band too.

Yeah their last few sound uninspired and bland. They seem bored, as if they’re just going through the motions. That said INNW still had tracks I really liked — the t/t, The Original, In the Company of Wolves and Adolescents. I can’t say the same about 8, which is by far their worst album imo.

Kenney is just as good as Dirk. They just have different styles. It is a bit surprising how strongly those styles influenced the course of the band though.
