‘Best opeth is morningrise‘
I don’t really want to agree with a 2.5 guy (3.5 by Ghandi-adjustment probably), but yeah (2).

To be honest I'm a big fan of rankings by someone who adores a band if filled with chunky descriptions.

This is still my personal favorite. As much as I adore other Opeth albums too, this strikes me as the album where everything comes together flawlessly. Awesome concept (and the band's only true "story" album), haunting atmosphere, some of the band's best lyrics, no filler, no remotely weak song, at least 4 masterpieces, plus at this time the band still had enough rawness and harshness for the old-school Opeth fans... yeah, this is one of the best metal albums of all time

I think I remember it being something like some dude or his wife being kicked out of a village for being atheist or something like that

Basically, the main character gets banished by a cultish village because he doesn't have the same faith as the rest of the people there. But the one person he still wants to come back to is Melinda, since she was his old lover before they got separated. But since the village already warned the guy about coming back, his return leads to him fighting and killing a bunch of the villagers until they finally hang him. Uplifting stuff, lol
