I think he could. he's done a decent amount of albums that aren't hardcore/metal

album is great
this felt very stylistically in line with Axe to Fall. does this continue into Dusk in Us?
|

Dusk in Us is their worst since Halo to me. It’s very neutered for Converge. You should still probably give it a shot though.

yeah imma see for myself
worst I've heard from Converge so far is No Heroes (haven't heard Halo). it was kinda good but too brickwalled and lacking the depth of the previous two and the catchiness of two following.

yeah no heroes just hasn't stuck with me ever save for To the Lions
man that song is cool

Title track on No Heroes is cool too
Production is just too loud and brickwalled even for Converge standards tho agreed

My ranking so far goes You Fail Me, Axe to Fall, Jane Doe, AWLWLB, PtES, WFCC, No Heroes
Jane Doe is still growing on me but You Fail Me has ticked all the riffy, snarly, emotional boxes that I could want out of a metalcore album. I'm so close to 5'ing it

I love Dusk in Us...and how accessible it is...its a shame if ppl fall for that and don t appreciate it for what it is

I like that they branched out (?) with TDIU but unfortunately I must be some sort of purist: feels like they're playing against their strengths a bit. It's good, but not quite there.

Sadness Comes Home riff is boner inducing

I don’t think Dusk is as safe as you guys are making it out to be. Murk and Marrow, Trigger, the t/t, and Thousands of Miles Between Us are unlike anything they’ve done imo.
