That's exactly it, and thus why it's better than all three of the more recent releases. I happen to still enjoy newer Opeth to a certain extent for different reasons but most of that is certain songs and Heritage.

This is so weird and accessible at the same time, really strange. Love it

Yeah I love this, bit of an oddball record but still very Opethian. And yes that’s an adjective.

Bro you have every Opeth album 5'd you gotta have some that are further down the line than others.

it just doesn't have those high points like some of their other albums do. there's no blackwater park, ghost of perdition, the moor, demon of the fall, etc. here.

Disagreed. The Lotus Eater is def on that level for me.

Album Rating: 3.5
for me there's not a single track here that would even come close to cracking my top 10.

Album Rating: 3.5
Yeah I dunno man this is still a 3.5 for me :-/ i don’t think those songs compare with Opeths best, especially not MAYH, Still Life, Blackwater or Ghost Reveries
|

Album Rating: 4.7
Def not on par with MAYH or GR but this isn't far off from BWP at all imo.
|
| |
It's better than any of the shit that came after it by a long shot.
