Who on earth is pushing this band that they get so much exposure? We know that you don't have to be good to be popular, but this is just ridiculous.

Idk if they’d be top bill on an American fest like that. Especially not over Weezer and on the same level as fucking Linkin Park and Green Day. Britains worst export, right here

It's almost like if Asking Alexandria would get a headline spot. About the same quality. Absolute insanity. Metal might be dead

I mean they seem to be insanely popular at the current time, especially in the U.K. - that's the reason for the headline slot. Now, the reasons for this can be speculated upon and are almost certainly partially major backing / marketing etc. but this equation definitely includes a significant portion of people enjoying their music. Hammering home the point that they suck isn't going to prevent this from happening. I'm flabbergasted by Taylor Swift's popularity (and again, a lot of that is in the marketing), but for whatever reason people like her
idk, deal with it I guess?

“this equation definitely includes a significant portion of people enjoying their music.”
🤓 it really isn’t that hard to deduce especially when you get your head out of your ass and out with the 20 something year olds who love this
y’all trying to figure out why people like this like how liberals try to understand why people like Trump

personally I can barely stand listening to this, but there comes a point where you don't need to overanalyse why other people enjoy it, or what chain of events occurred to make something so popular
It's getting a bit 'rent free' in here

Not a massive fan of this band but yeah I can see how they're headlining Download. Their fanbase is literally a cult here in the UK, it's actually quite wild how they've took off. Especially since this album.
That being said, I'm absolutely living for Downloads lineup next year, only so many times you can have Metallica on your bill before it gets stale lol.

Oh no I totally understand why people love this band. But I hate it for all of the same reasons that I hate all “atmospheric” djentcore this band just also happens to have the most unbearable vocals on top of it
I remember listening to their first ep like right after it came out and kinda liking it but I haven’t listened to it since. Maybe I’ll give that a shot, I remember it being way different from this

Just goes to show you how many people there are with absolute dog shit taste in music tbh.

Alright yeah Nazareth is a thousand times better than anything here. Still don’t really like his vocals but I feel like he started leaning more into his most annoying inflections as the years went on

@Ectier The Sex Pistols fronted by Frank Carter no less
|

initially misread that one as fronted by Frank Turner, which would have been potentially the funniest class mismatch of all time. poor ol zak would have had a seizure
|

Nah Johnny, Frank Turner is busy with the Million Dead reunion.
I probably could have done a news article about it the other week but too late now.

...what does this mean?

means the Sex Pistols fronted by Frank Turner is an excellent meme that should 100% happen

What's the joke, is Frank Turner blue blood or something?
There used to be a time I would have cared about a Million Dead reunion
