the lyrics are so bad and off beat in that song, it’s got some interesting ideas near the middle, but overall it’s skip worthy as fuck, and the constant moans also piss me off

"Waste" is a good song. I guess in some redemptive contexts I can still listen to certain parts. The ones where Jesse seems to be trying to move on and self improve and be positive are still worthwhile to me. I just don't think I'll spin "Me vs. Maradona vs. Elvis" anymore.

I completely rearranged the self titled Taking Back Sunday album.

album needed a whole lot more than a re-order to be good, lol. the bonus demos are all better than every track on the album bar one

@Rowan

Oh I agree, every song having a ~30 second ring out on the guitar doesn't exactly help it flow either, but I reckon now with the demos I've replaced certain tracks with it's enjoyable.

what demos are we talking about here ...? They on spotify?

That self titled album was pretty poopy ... Best Places to Be a Mom is a top 10 TBS song though. I also like El Paso just because it had more bite than TBS ever has had

Yeah even as a huge fanboy I have to admit the lyrics cross the line; I could make a case that there are some god awfully worse lyrics out there especially in hip-hop/rap, but that doesn't reduce the cringiness of this song especially now in hindsight. I always used to focus on the "lie awake and fake the way I hold you" as a verse about how empty he feels inside, unable to feel emotion in a meaningful way which is how I first connected to the song. In retrospect now, paying closer attention to the lyrics, it means something different.

I also don’t like that the verses have the same melody as the bridge in Soco Amaretto Lime on favorite weapon (Eyes are fighting sleep while ur mouth makes ur demands) vs. (Just Jealous cuz we’re young and in love)
