i'm gonna keep this brief because this is a bit draining; a lot of times i feel a need to over-explain things when i believe i'm not getting my point across properly otherwise. the reality is id rather just coexist but it feels like i can't because i feel alienated being alone on a lot of topics, and i was always told if i didn't defend myself that i'd be a coward for not doing so.

After a certain point, you need to learn when to stop. I actually think you’re very articulate and get your point across fine. I think your issue is that even when you make a good argument (for your POV on something) and it doesn’t change that other person’s mind, you a)take it too personally (maybe) and b) are perhaps confused as to how, even when you’ve thoroughly explained yourself, they don’t still don’t feel the same.

I don’t understand why you think coexisting isn’t possible when people have differing opinions. Sure, if it’s something like politics yes, that makes it hard, but music? There is literally nobody in this thread that feels the way about shitty raw black metal like I do. But we do have a lot of other stuff in common. Maybe focus on what you have in common with people and when you do have the slight difference of opinion, it won’t seem so jarring b/c you now you’ll still have common ground.

Whoever told you that is deeply entrenched in some toxic masculinity BS. Yes, you need to stand your ground in certain situations, but here, nobody will think different of you if you just ignore the negativity and keep pushing.

i mean- there's been people who got their livelihoods fucked (granted, the case i have as an example is far more justifiable, as he was making gross homophobic comments on a forum) based on forum posts years ago, such as ex-WWE talent Lars Sullivan...in his case it was legit and had a basis, but any accusation has the potential of screwing someone's life up if not dealt with quick, regardless of validity.

The only reason most of us have any awareness of this is because you keep bringing it up and frankly it's really weird that you think it's a big deal or that it could somehow ruin your career. and because it kept being brought up when i personally felt it was unneeded especially as Ronnie had been out of the band for years by the time the self-titled dropped, and i know if, assuming my aspirations come true, the media got wind of my profile (which they likely would) they'd dig into my comments and find these arguments and ask me about them years after i'd (hopefully) moved on from this site.
