i dont really agree with their albums being samey... this album sounds basically nothing like their most recent few, which are way more melodic, mid-tempo and atmospheric. granted its been a pretty gradual evolution. pick any 2 consecutive albums and i guess they're pretty similar

My point exactly though. Tweaking the formula doesn’t exactly make them night and day. But all of their albums are hard 4s besides this one. Always there when I’m in the mood for insanely technical evil death metal

I feel like Vermis is their most out there album. Shines and Stare into death were much more melodic. Vermis was so incredibly dense and dissonant. I find Vermis very underrated in their discography.
