Nepenthe and Haxprocess have Axe's greatest performances in my opinion

Not only does he most brilliantly blend jazz and rock technique, he also has on this album definitely one of my favorite drum sound; it's just so rich, organic and colorful.

Agreed Oni, and those descriptions could be attributed to any instrument here for me. The whole album is so warm and organic and adventurous, gets better and better with each listen.

I really wish I could see the same. No matter how much I try nothing really stands out :/

This is growing to be one of my favorite prog releases of the past decade.

Keep trying Mongi, took me nearly two years to like and accept this haha

Haha I will keep trying. Just never found anything of Damnation enjoyment on here as far as their softer albums go.

Don't know what else you'd call this other than prog tbh. Sure it's completely different music than the stuff that came out of the late 60s and 70s but still.

I don't know haha I just meant that it's one of the best prog albums of the past decade, I'll edit it out just for you though. I'm completely burned out and insanely stressed from school and life, so my comments, and comment interpretation, aren't gonna be perfect today.

Your mistake, I think, is in comparing this to Damnation in the first place. They're really nothing alike.

This is very different from Damnation indeed, can't decide which album I like more.

That should be an esay decision, not because this one is bad or worth of a 1.5, but because Damnation is nearly perfect.

I'm probably one of the biggest opeth fanboys on the earth but this whole album makes me cringe.
