after a very thorough listen (or 3) i am very much coming around to the idea that this is the best ulcerate album. it's almost everything i want in a death metal that is melodic but isn't melodic death metal album (i'm sucker for soaring leads and harmonized guitars, sue me).

I'm close. for me it's Destroyers, Stare into Death, Vermis, Everything, Shrines, Fracture (duh). but like, they're all pretty incredible? I just don't find many memorable moments in Shrines even though I thoroughly enjoy it while I'm listening to it. The end of Chasm of Fire comes to mind, though.
