Problem is that I'm not a huge fan of wittr alcest or mbv. These guys do something a little different. Tried the others and wasn't impressed.

We'll apparently Two Hunters and Diadems are like legendary blackgaze records but wasn't impressed. Wittr are too drone
out (crazy for me to say I know cuz Sunbather is a droner. Got that before) but at least Sunbather kept my attention. Ecailles
de Lune is quite decent yes but isn't as good as this and after that Alcest was not very good (Hell Shelter is indie-pop). As for
mbv I've only listened to mbv and felt like I was listening to 90s music. Not bad. But I don't see it comparable to Sunbather at
all.

I'm literally not going to list out my favorite albums. That is retarded. I'm sorry that I think Sunbather is unlike anything I've
ever heard. And people are like "whoa it's not a landmark bc it sounds like [insert cliche album here]" but honestly there's
nothing like it. I don't feel like my other taste in music should reflect anything. This is just a damn perfect album. Not everyone
will agree, but in my eyes it really is. It encompasses so much.
Open your mind, open your ears, come with no expectations of any genre (as this album is not anything, it's a genre of itself)
and it will blow you away. It's not about fitting a mold, it's about just playing and not giving a single fuck. That's why I hate it
being "fitted" into a small box of a genre. It's not.

I don't smoke weed. I just speak honesty. Album is better than it gets flack for.

scrolled through your 5-4.0's and you don't seem to have much bm there, so tbh this probably just sounds like nothing else you've heard because you've heard nothing else that sounds like this. I've seen lots of people compare numerous bm bands to dfhvn. Post-black metal is the popular thing in bm right now so it's not surprising there a loads of bands riding on dfhvn's coattails.
On that note, does anyone know of an instance of a bm band using post-rock influences earlier than Weakling?

If I had to fit it to anything, this album is the heavier version of Hurry Up, We're Dreaming by M83, sure it fits in with certain genres but as a whole, it cannot be contained. And that album didn't get any type of flack.

BrushedRed, you should brush up on your bm knowledge before making ignorant statements as to why this album is unlike anything you've ever heard.

Because I don't rate every album I listen to. It would take years to do such. I know plenty of black metal bands. And to be honest I said this album was NOT black metal.

I rest my case.
Argument is not redundant. I just told you what you didn't want to hear. It's possible to like both Deafheaven and black metal,
contrary to popular belief

Weakling's 'Disasters in the Sun' rips faces off. Shit I need to listen that album more. Destroys this one by leaps and bounds of anti-cosmic space.
