The last two days and today were great. I love grey days without any minute of sunshine. I couldn't listen to The Mantle when it's sunny. Climate-wise I'm glad I live in germany and not in places like Florida for example, november is usually rather cold here and I love it when it's cold.
Snow here? No, late november it can be possible but not this year.

It has already snowed where I live in Germany (in the west), but I spent that day with Winterreise and mid-era Cocteau Twins. It melted over night. This album will get its turn soon enough at any rate ..

In which germany city do you live? West? I live there too (Hagen).
I often look at webcams. In big cities like Dortmund or Bochum there wasn't snow yet in november...

It's a very small town, I imagine it's way warmer in bigger cities because CO2 and stuff.

This album could've just ended with ...And The Great Cold Death Of the Earth and it would have been the perfect cyclical album where it ends right where it started, but they just had to dust off that old accordion and mandolin.

This band's first three albums are pretty much perfect imo
There was a dip in the quality for the stuff that followed, but it was still pretty damn good
Damn, I wish they never disbanded

Pillorian are every bit as good as Agalloch were when they disbanded. Anyone who wants more Agalloch should follow them.

I enjoy the Pillorian record much more than the last Agalloch release.

I see the first two albums similarly, while Ashes feels very different with its use of synthesizers and smoother production, and then Marrow's a whole different animal. Ashes feels inorganic compared to the others and that's always bothered me.

Spot on, but for some reason the Ashes sound only recently started bothering me in the past couple years as I began to gravitate more towards Marrow. Weird how that works sometimes.

Here at the edge of this world
Here I gaze at a pantheon of oak, a citadel of stone
If this grand panorama before me is what you call God
Then God is not dead...
And that fucking guitar swell afterwards; fucking chills every time

I'd 5 it if track 2 was the only song, probably.
