noro's actually one of my least favs on daisy
it's still absolutely stellar (i have that album 5d for a reason) but it's not quite on the level of bought a bride, at the bottom, vices, t/t or you stole for me. it's kinda grown off me overtime

wait can we go back to when sowing said Bought A Bride is one of the bottom two tracks on Daisy? Are we really just gonna let that go?

Bought a Bride just has such bad lyrics and the chorus is boring. Probably the only track on Daisy I'd put below Bed.

"Cars are little blood cells
We are oxygen
City is the airways
Suburbs appendages
She was feeling lonely
Tired of the hive
Rented out a family
And he bought a bride"
Like, I don't get it at all. And the chorus' melody does nothing for me either.
One thing I'll give it, especially in hindsight, is the final verse...pretty interesting:
"If somehow I was new and everything was unsaid
I'd go and buy a hammer, never sing again"
Clearly about his regret.

Usually when lyrics don't make sense to me, I just assume it's going over my head and the meaning is only really known to the writer. It might sound nonsensical, but for all I know there could be a valid metaphor there. Lyrics aside though...the vocals and bass in those verses are superb.

I don't get all the fawning over "In The Water"

I mean the first part about cars being blood cells, we are oxygen in that oxygen is carried by blood cells and we are carried by the cars, suburbs are the appendages etc is a cool little analogy but I have no idea what the hell that has to do with anything haha. it doesn’t seem to have much to do with the second part about a woman apparently being tired of the city and selling herself off (rented out a family) to the guy who bought a bride
