Hard to rank em. Do I put bolt thrower above gorguts cause they’re more easily enjoyable? Or rank gorguts higher because they’re “better” but not as easy to like.

Pretty much how I feel @ Demilich. Thought about that with Dismember, but unlike Demilich, Dismember have some not-so-great albums so it feels weird to include them in top 10 bands. Almost as weird as not including them considering how much I dig their debut. #0 works though I guess lol

Tbh MA isn't that high for me. Maybe top 25 or something, but idk cuz Sinister and stuff.
But yeah ranking is hard for me too. Although I'd say if you enjoy Bolt Thrower more, then you should rank them higher than Gorguts.

Yeah for sure incantation has never made an album that wasn't at least great. And like I said, Onward is a better album than anything most of the other bands in my top 10 made. But if you eenie-meenie-miney-moe and pick an immolation album blindfolded, chances are that I'm gonna say it's better than the incantation album you do the same with.
Also re: MA, once again I agree with hex, what a fucking surprise lmao. They've made some great albums fs but I wouldn't have them anywhere near my top 10 probably. Top 25 is more accurate. I would 100% put Sinister over MA. And hell at this point i would put mortem (per) over them.
At the end of the day tho, everyone is a winner and it doesn't matter how we rank these bands cuz dm is goated and it's the genre that just keeps on giving

See i feel the exact opposite of this lol. I think Immolation is not only one of the most consistently good/great DM bands ever, but of ANY band full stop. But, I think OBSCURA is better than any one Immo album (imo).

I get it. we all have our lists. Morbid is a staple in any top 10 those first 3 morbid albums are some of the goat dm albums and they have good albums after that as well. Their more deserving than most to be top 10 but again we all have our lists all great bands no wrong answers. Alot of artists have duds and are still held in high praise you look at the great not focus on the bad so much

I would have meshuggah on my top 10 list but they ain't really death metal I thought we were just doing dm bands now it's just turning into anything extreme metal just throw any band with harsh vocals on the list lol
