frayed ends is the best song on the album tho

t/t goes by extremely quick for me. it's a song that feels like 5-6 minutes, and not nearly 10.

who cares about drum fills...listened to that song a million times and never got rubbed by lars's fills in the slightest

*heart emoji that wont show up for some reason*

the fade in/out transitions on tlitd make no sense but that's the only flaw

*raises hand*

It probably wouldn't bother 99% of people but idk... I play drums so I notice dumb stuff like that. When I listen to that song, I find myself thinking "what the hell is he doing?" Lol. The crystal clear production on the drums here doesn't help either

i love the fade in/fade out thing. it's so abrasive and i think that's the point. it's like a rough storm (cliff's death) interrupting a serene sunny day. i know alot of people who hate it tho.

lars' drumming has always been questionable, and it still is.

I knew I would have a profound impact with my overly critical analysis of this album

'Definitely not flawless. Title track is a boring, meandering mess. To live is to die is almost cool except Lars gets a little fill happy and the fills are pretty jarring because they kinda suck and are completely unnecessary. And shortest straw, frayed ends of sanity, and harvester of sorrow are songs I'd be fine never hearing again'

You complain about more than half of the songs and still rate it 3.5. Disagree with it all.

That said it would probably still be a 3. Blackened, dyers eve, and eye of the beholder all rule. One is decent I guess. To live is to die is ok except for Lars adhd drumming. Frayed ends has cool parts

To Live Is to Die is sub par, t/t a bit too long. The rest rules.
