I don't think I was in the right mood for it when I heard it the first 50+ times. Cus Soundgarden is depressing in a "fun" kinda way but Alice In Chains is just depressing depressing.
Sickman and God Smack are both fucking terrible though.

AIC shat on every other grunge outfit in general imo. To me it's funny that bands like Pearl Jam are even mentioned in the same sentence as AIC. PJ's still a nice band and all but AIC was doing some absolute genius/alien things that are next level

I find this album impossible to enjoy. Layne Staley's vocals annoy me. Not that they're grating, but I want him to stop doing that fucking throat buzzing thing he always does (https://youtu.be/-4EV2OTBh7Y?t=59) and actually fucking scream properly. It's the most unsatisfying bullshit ever. It's like edging for two hours and not finishing. Every single track except for Rooster, Down In A Hole and Would? uses the EXACT same song structure/progression. Not even similar like Nirvana, it's the same in every single fucking song; there might be the occasional refrain like on Them Bones and Hate To Feel or bridge like in Sickman but the verses, chorus and guitar solo are always in the exact same order, absolutely no variety. Not to mention the music is just boring. How the hell do fans of this band put up with any of this shit?
Yeah I fucking hate this album. I've tried to get into this but how the hell do people willingly listen to this shit. I tried to give it one star yesterday but the site just said "no".
