It's not really that, only morons would say Megadeth never sold out. It's that Metallica gets all the flack for going mainstream but Megadeth did the same thing except far worse and far more exaggerated but people still respected their want to transition. Although I would say Megadeth fans are a few thousand times more protective than Metallica fans, at least that's how it was when the rivalry was still ripe.
