Yeah Dave rules. Every single remaining member is a vital piece of this band and they all shine on here

I’ve only had the weekend with it, and I need to revisit their discography, but is this the best post metal album ever created? I’d say first red rays is my favorite but there’s not a weak track here. Hell, there isn’t a weak second here.

After going through it high as shit, with lyrics, while watching the sun rise this morning… Yeah fuck it, 5. Idk man I might like it as much as Eye of Every Storm, make that 41 for the discog run. I gotta figure out if this is their best album.

I know for a fact this is, at worst, their second best record and Blind + Last Light are absolutely top 5 songs for these guys. The leap in quality from Fire Within Fires to this is absolutely insane, and it’s not like that’s a BAD record. I know it’s been a long time, but they sound so much more inspired here. Fucking 60 year olds sounding more invigorated and pissed off than bands half their age.

"I think 40 of us are on a discography binge."

I'm on a full on post metal binge after this tbh haha

Ayuh. Revisiting some classics to see how this stacks up. Panopticon is as beautiful as I remember.

After 3 spins I find it to be quite good, but not at the level of their late 90s-early 00s output. But these beasts love to be cuddled for longer periods than just few days. The closer is massive though.

This will be my first Neurosis album. Should I be hyped?

Honestly I think people are overrating this a bit because it was such an unexpected and amazing surprise when we all thought we'd never get another album again, everyone's riding on that high. I'm betting ratings will be bumped down over time a little, but it definitely does sound like they've been reinvigorated. Fires Within Fires sounded kind of tired, this one does not at all.

I mean I never really listened to Neurosis before this. Sometimes a good album is just good and everyone can look at it and silently nod that it's good.
