B2B 2025 insta 5’s between this and Billy Woods, and it might be a triple play once I revisit the Djrum record again in a more focused setting. What a year to be listening to music while slowly dying

“massively respect just how hard they went for it”
oh for sure, I always respect a big swing even if it ain’t a home run yknow. Still tho, I’ll give the track some room to maybe grow on me. There’s a lot to love about it. It’s just a song like Title Track kind of hit me immediately and I love it even more now.

didnt realize until this jam of this that one of my biggest issues w this band is honestly carson. find him pretty monotonous even when hes trying to mix shit up

Nash slander definitely unacceptable, Erra slander is mostly acceptable after Cure.

My homies 🤜🏻🤛🏻
While I wasn’t enthralled with tons of the music here, agree totally that the bulk of my distaste is also Carson. Some of his vocals remind me of various mall core and other scene band cleans that I don’t like and it just irks me

hes like the exact midpoint between bert mccracken and patrick stump as a clean singer and its a little uncanny lol. i love both their respective bands but its a weird as hell fit within these songs
two tracks left but so far only three songs held my attention all the way through lmao oops

^10000% agree totally with all points
There’s others in there too I’d have to relisten to pinpoint and I will not at this moment 😂

i didnt have like, a *bad* time w this or anything but im def not sold on them going more chuggy wee woo wee woo and dropping the mathiness. i wasnt even really a ct fanboy but i still fwd it and this kinda makes me miss it in a lot of places
funny album tho because the songs i did like i probably fw more than most of, if not the whole last album (or at the very least, theyre more immediate first listen), theyre j few and far between

this album feels like THE one for genre-agnostic heavy music this generation. fuck a genre get crazy with it. sleep token tried but i genuinely don't think they're ballsy enough to go beyond surface-level adaptations of their respective styles

I’ll just let bubs speak for me from now on lol. Same feelings across the board.
Oh, I remembered. Sometimes on this Carson sounds like Jesse Lacey too. There’s a fair bit of emulation across the board with multiple people

@Venin To be honest balls are not the issue. Outside II, they aren’t talented enough to pull anything off more than surface level genre blending

maybe i'm just being stockholmed but i feel like i still wanna root for their success on a "gateway band" level like what LP was 20 years ago. but ST is getting lapped up big time with this
