i cant even listen to any of their other records in full
the illusion records has some good tunes though
|
| |
Illusion has some truly outstanding tunes, is diverse, epic and ambitous. The only issue is that both LP's have some filler. By the way, bashing Guns N Roses won't make you cooler and won't get you more pussy

damn bro you foiled my cunning plan
i always hated their image and obv axl but i cant deny the riffs on this record, the leads have never been particularly interesting to me but hey i cant slam slash too hard hes a great guitarist for sure
|
| |
i'd dig this harder if the vocals weren't so ghoulish. used to love it
|
| |
Sure Axl is a douche but between 87 and 93 was a remarkable singer with lots of intensity ( like it or not Axl vocals were really solid) judging the music for the aesthetic of the band and the atittude of one of his members is kinda silly, those are minor things that usually don't have a severe impact on the creations made by certain band ( with the exception of the aesthetic of scene bands which is usually repulsive and their music is shallow, stupid and souless). Besides if you compare the aesthetic of the guns with their contemporaries the guns aesthetic is far, far, far, far more tolerable

im saying even when i dug em hard when i was younger i never liked their gay ass style, over the years ive just grown tired of the vocals and all of the good riffs are ingrained in my head so its like either listen to the songs i know like the back of my hand or listen to the filler tunes which are lame anyway i just cant enjoy the record like i used to!!!!

What Kill said. This makes me cringe whenever I hear it now
|

Album Rating: 4.5
I keep expecting to hate this but every time I hear a song now I still love it like I always have, and I think it's because it's not cheesy or dumb like most bands with a similar image, it's unapologetic sleaze rock at its best
