I was trying to think of a Super Bowl artist that could appeal to the majority and Poppy would be pretty dope.

I would love that so much but I just think it would be hysterical to see her perform centers falling out and then move right into halo

A lot of the time I feel like I've heard the melodies found here a thousand times already, and I don't even listen to music like this all that much. Feels awfully derivative and yet trendchasey at times. Poppy sounds like she wants to be Paramore, Spiritbox and Lana del Rey all at the same time. But I'll give her a pass for that since I know she started out as a pop project, plus there are also some interesting ideas here and there like in the song "push go" and the heavy stuff on this album sounds way more genuine than some bands with a much heavier history trying to play heavier than they usually do and sounding super awkward for it
and yeah, she's a way better screamer than that sad dude from Sonic Syndicate. what was his name? I think Richard Sjunesson. Ahh yes, gotta sting that the guy whose only job in the band was to scream can't do it half as well as a little girl who didn't even start out playing heavy music lol. Not sure why this stuff made me think of him but hah, what can I say

I waver between 3.5 and 4 on this but I’ve become a pretty big fan of Poppy in general. Sexy as hell too.
I think she definitely brought her sound to a new and cohesive level. This album feels and sounds cohesive. Previous albums were still good but they did sound somewhat disparate in tone at times. She’s finally constructed an album that is a unique mold of all her previous sounds, and it results in something that is its own thing and decidedly…Poppy.

Has anyone been watching the sketches she's been posting on youtube? They're so much fun to watch.
Just got this on vinyl the other day I'm so happy.

Yeah, the weird puppet show?? I’ve watched the first 3, not sure if more have been released since. Definitely very wtf and entertaining. First ep was the best, and had the best song/performance of the three I saw.
